Itinerary

Upon arrival in Bogotá, you’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel in the vibrant heart of Colombia’s capital. After settling in, take some time to relax and acclimate or, if you wish, begin exploring the local surroundings at your leisure. Bogotá offers an exciting blend of rich history, stunning mountain views, and a dynamic cultural scene, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey through Colombia. 

Start your day with a fascinating journey to the famed Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, a unique underground wonder located just outside Bogotá. After a scenic drive through Colombia’s lush countryside, we’ll arrive at this stunning cathedral carved entirely from salt, a testament to Colombia’s rich mining history. As you explore its intricate tunnels, illuminated altars, and impressive sculptures, you’ll gain insight into the cultural and spiritual significance of this awe-inspiring site.

Returning to Bogotá, we’ll dive into the heart of the capital city. Wander through La Candelaria, Bogotá’s vibrant historic district, where colonial architecture, colorful murals, and charming cobblestone streets come together to tell the story of Colombia’s past and present. Here, you’ll visit iconic landmarks like Plaza Bolívar and the impressive Bogotá Cathedral, immersing yourself in the energy of the city center.

The afternoon concludes with a cable car ride up to Monserrate, Bogotá’s towering mountain that provides sweeping panoramic views over the city. At the summit, visit the iconic church, enjoy local cuisine, or simply take in the breathtaking landscape as the day winds down.

After a morning flight from Bogotá to Medellín, we’ll check into our hotel and get settled before beginning an exciting city tour. Our journey starts at Plaza Botero, where you’ll marvel at the larger-than-life sculptures by celebrated artist Fernando Botero, followed by a visit to the Museo de Antioquia to explore an impressive array of Latin American art.

From there, we’ll head up to Cerro Nutibara for breathtaking views of Medellín and a stop at Pueblito Paisa, a charming replica of a traditional Antioquian village. After taking in the cityscape, we’ll explore Medellín’s innovative metro and cable car system, a symbol of the city’s impressive urban renewal. Along the way, we’ll sample local flavors, explore vibrant markets, and discover how Medellín has transformed into one of Colombia’s most dynamic cities.

Discover the breathtaking beauty of El Peñón de Guatapé on this unforgettable day tour. Begin with a scenic drive from Medellín, winding through lush countryside and rolling hills before reaching this iconic granite monolith, also known as La Piedra del Peñol. Rising over 650 feet, El Peñón offers a spectacular climb, where you’ll ascend 740 steps carved directly into the rock.

At the top, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the stunning Guatapé Reservoir, a vast expanse of turquoise waters dotted with islands and surrounded by lush landscapes. Take in the 360-degree vistas, snap photos, and soak in the tranquility of this remarkable setting.

After descending, we’ll continue to the colorful town of Guatapé. Known for its vividly painted houses and unique zócalos (decorative panels), Guatapé offers a vibrant atmosphere to explore and enjoy. Stroll through the charming streets, shop for handmade crafts, or relax by the water. This day combines natural beauty with rich culture, making for an extraordinary experience in one of Colombia’s most picturesque settings.

For those who prefer not to take on the challenge of climbing El Peñón’s 740 steps, we’ll offer an alternative experience in Medellín. Enjoy a relaxing tour through Medellín’s highlights, including a visit to the Botanical Garden, a scenic cable car ride with views of the surrounding hillsides, and an exploration of local markets and artisan shops. This alternative ensures everyone can enjoy a memorable day tailored to their interests and comfort levels.

Catch a short, scenic flight from Medellín to Cartagena, where you’ll leave behind the mountains and arrive on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. This quick transition brings you straight into Cartagena’s tropical charm, ready to explore its historic streets, vibrant culture, and beautiful beaches upon arrival.

60 minutes by boat from Cartagena, inside the Corales del Rosario Park is located ISLA DEL ENCANTO a private island with approx. 300 meters of beach where the sun, sand, and sea are your allies to enjoy your holiday intensely. Isla del Encanto is the place where service and relax combine to give you a full experience.

The tour includes:

– Transfer Hotel – Pier – Hotel

– Transfer by speedboat Cartagena – Isla – Cartagena (shared service)

– Typical lunch

Departure taxes are not included and must be paid directly at the pier.

Schedule: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to the number of people you will have a driver guide or just a guide to start the visit to El Poblado Park, where the Regional Avenue will be taken, the guide will indicate one of the most important buildings in the city, the Bancolombia Building.

Visit to the Pueblito Paisa which is one of the places that could not miss in this tour, there will be a stop of 30 minutes for enjoy the panorama and visit the artisan market that the place offers. After this stop, you will move to the Pies Descalzos park, crossing Plaza Mayor and the Alpujarra Administrative Center. Then visit around the Botero square and the Bolivar Park, continuing to the Deseos park where the last stop will be made and you will receive snacks and then observe the Planetarium, the University of Antioquia (Alma Máter) , Concha Acústica, Music House, Explora Park and the Botanical Garden (entrance fee is not included).

09:00 am. Assistance at the hotel by the guide to starting the panoramic tour through the modern city, bordering one of the most beautiful bays in America (Cartagena Bay), the tour of the Manga neighbourhood, where you can see Republican-style houses. Then visit the Candelaria convent on Cerro de la Popa, one of the highest in the city. Visit the monument to old shoes and the Fort (Castillo) San Felipe de Barajas, one of the most important historical military fortifications in the city. Continuation to the Vaults, to shop and finally walk through the walled town strolling through its main streets and squares. Back to the hotel.

Note: In case the Cerro de la Popa is closed, the Church of San Pedro Claver will be visited.

Duration: 3-4 hrs.

Today we will say our farewells as we depart our hotel to  Rafael Nuñez International Airport to head home.
